OAK BROOK, IL — A local father was seen screaming in victory this morning while surrounded by broken ceramic shards. While attempting to slice a virtual watermelon on his new Nex Playground console, Mark Henderson aggressively karate-chopped the air, accidentally punching a spinning ceiling fan and knocking a cremation urn off the mantle. He remains currently tied for third place on the leaderboard.
“This level of physical commitment is exactly what we built for,” said Sarah Jenkins, VP of Active Gaming. “The $249 system uses a camera to track your body. If you are not destroying your furniture, the machine assumes you are not trying hard enough. We want users to feel the game, especially in their knuckles.”
“We actually suggest removing all walls before setup,” explained Dave Johnson, Director of Safety Waivers. “Mr. Henderson kept his drywall, which is a rookie mistake. Our data shows that 85% of users break a lamp within the first ten minutes. It means the system is working perfectly.”
At press time, Henderson was seen wearing a bike helmet to slice a pineapple, accidentally kicking his television through the front window.
