MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — Workplace efficiency ground to a halt today after Google’s new AI Inbox decided to prioritize emotional wellness over employment status. Witnesses reported seeing local marketing manager Dave Miller sweating profusely while frantically searching for a “You’re Fired” email that the AI hid in a “Low Priority” folder because the tone was “too negative.”

“We found that urgent emails often contain harsh language, so our algorithm simply tucks them away to preserve your vibe,” said VP of User Serenity Jessica Wu. “The new AI Inbox replaces the traditional list of emails with a curated summary of things that won’t make you cry.” Wu noted that while the feature isn’t widely available yet, early testers report feeling significantly happier right up until their badge stops working at the front door.

“My landlord sent an urgent eviction notice, but Gmail filed it under ‘Later’ because the all-caps subject line was aggressive,” explained beta tester Kevin O’Malley. “Instead, the AI highlighted a newsletter about mindfulness and a coupon for calming tea.” O’Malley admitted he is now technically homeless, but praised the interface for its clean design and lack of red exclamation points.

At press time, the AI Inbox automatically replied to Miller’s boss with a “Not Interested” smart reply and blocked HR for being toxic.
