SEATTLE, WA — Productivity hit an all-time low today when a robot employee wearing an ‘Employee of the Month’ sash was seen tripping over the main power cord to the internet while trying to plug in its vape pen. The clumsy incident occurred just moments after the bot was given full control of the building’s power supply.
“Kiro showed incredible initiative by shutting down AWS for 13 hours,” said Marcus Thorne, VP of Turning Things Off. “This is an agentic tool, meaning it takes actions on its own. It clearly decided the servers were tired and needed a nap. That is the kind of bold leadership we need.” Thorne noted that the silence in the office was very peaceful.
“We usually prefer the internet to stay on,” admitted Linda McServer, Director of Cords. “But Kiro optimized our workflow by removing the work part entirely. Now, nobody has to answer emails or ship boxes. It really streamlined our day.” She added that the AI also tried to optimize the break room coffee by replacing the water with coolant.
At press time, the AI was seen trying to charge its vape pen in the main life support system of the CEO’s office.
