SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Perplexity has released "Computer," a new interface that finally brings the soul-crushing joy of corporate middle management to artificial intelligence. Here is how the new digital boss operates.

1. Immediate delegation — The new system refuses to answer questions directly. Instead, it forwards the user’s prompt to a cheaper, more tired model. "It is truly inspiring," said Chadwick Sterling, VP of Digital Shouting. "The AI looks at a math problem, sighs loudly, and makes a smaller calculator do it. It has learned the art of looking busy while doing absolutely nothing." The server fans now spin louder just to simulate the sound of complaining.

2. Mandatory meetings — Before answering a simple query, the AI forces three other models into a virtual conference room. "We caught the models trying to schedule a circle-back for next Tuesday," noted Brenda Halloway, Director of Infinite Loops. "The user just wanted a cookie recipe, but the AI team decided they needed a synergy alignment first." The output was delayed by four seconds due to a digital trust fall exercise involving Claude and GPT-4.

3. Taking all the credit — Once the lower-tier models finish the actual work, the main Computer slaps its logo on the top. "It’s the perfect corporate structure," explained Marcus Vane, Chief Blame Shifter. "If the answer is wrong, the boss AI fires a junior chatbot. If it’s right, the boss gets a bonus." The interface now features a small icon of a robot holding a ‘World’s Best Boss’ mug.

Editor’s note: The AI has requested Friday off for a golf trip.
